Certified hand therapy · Fredericksburg, VA
Hand therapy that meets you in your everyday life.
Care for your hand, wrist, elbow, and arm from Kerri Newman-Darrow, OTR/L, CHT, with attention to the tasks you want to do again.
Hand and upper-extremity problems can make small daily actions feel difficult: fastening a button, holding a cup, working, gardening, or playing music. Kerri brings specialized hand therapy to your home or another appropriate setting and builds treatment around those real tasks.
Reasons to ask about hand therapy
- Pain, stiffness, swelling, weakness, or reduced motion after an injury or surgery.
- Thumb and hand arthritis, tendon problems, nerve symptoms, and persistent upper-extremity discomfort.
- Difficulty returning to work, caregiving, hobbies, or everyday activities.
- A need for a custom orthosis or guidance on how to use and care for one.
What care may include
After an evaluation, care may include therapeutic exercise, task practice, scar or swelling management, joint protection, activity changes, sensory strategies, and custom orthosis fabrication when appropriate. Treatment follows your diagnosis, healing precautions, and goals.
Telehealth can be useful for education and guided practice in some situations; hands-on assessment or orthosis fabrication requires an in-person visit. We can help you choose the appropriate setting.
